About Us

Birdhat Studios taps into a trusted network of syndicated cartoonists, published graphic novelists, and award-winning animators and copywriters.

We draw cartoons even when we should’nt be drawing cartoons.

We are based in the Rocky Mountains. There are bears here.

We have over 30 years experience planning, developing, and perfecting content campaigns.

We use characters and cartoons to cut through noise, build familiarity, and earn attention.

We love our Nespresso machine, our Wacom Cintiqs, and our big-ass whiteboard.

(oh, and our kids)

Our favorite question:
How do you come up with this stuff?

Our Process

Developing a branded cartoon for your blog and social media is not as simple as doodling a panel with a punchline. It requires the same purposeful, strategic thought as any other marketing endeavor.

  1. Listen and understand you audience.

  2. Define editorial strategy and objectives.

  3. Develop the characters and storylines that match the above.

  4. Publish across all available channels.

  5. Promote to existing base.

  6. Analyze the results and provide feedback.

  7. Optimize like angry little hedgehogs.

Our executive team is very attractive.

Steve Klinetobe

Founder / Creative Director

Steve is a veteran creative leader who has served as Executive Creative Director for major brands and agencies. He’s a writer, designer, and strategist who’s successfully built and run three businesses.

He leads the creative process on every Birdhat project and still believes good ideas should wear better pants than bad ones.

Rich Moyer

Lead Animator / Story Development

Rich is still funnier than the rest of us. He’s a syndicated cartoonist, award-winning animator, and a published graphic novelist.

He brings motion, timing, and restraint to Birdhat’s work. He also holds the world record for largest spleen.

An orange furry monster with a big smile and outstretched arm is on the left, and a small animated man with glasses, brown hair, a yellow shirt, and blue pants is on the right, pointing to the left.

Augi Garred

Lead Copywriter

Over three decades, he’s launched four startups (with two exits), created groundbreaking campaigns for AT&T and the National MS Society, electrified audiences at The Second City (with humor, no one was injured), was called “a brilliant funnyman” by the executive producer of The Late Late Show and totally bombed his audition for Last Comic Standing.
